NAVORA (Nautical Aptitude & Vocational Orientation Readiness Assessment) is an initiative of CCMS Educational Foundation designed to guide aspiring candidates towards a successful career in the Merchant Navy.
Our role is to help students make informed career decisions through aptitude assessment, counselling, orientation, documentation support, medical guidance, and assistance with admission to suitable DG Shipping Approved Colleges.
GP Rating Course
The General Purpose (GP) Rating course is one of the most popular entry-level programmes for candidates who wish to build a career onboard merchant ships.
Eligibility
- Minimum Qualification: 10th Pass
- Age and medical fitness should meet the requirements prescribed by the respective DG Shipping Approved College.
- Candidate should possess a valid Indian passport or be eligible to obtain one.
NAVORA Admission Process
Step 1 – Online Registration
Complete the online registration form and submit your basic academic and personal details.
Step 2 – NAVORA Aptitude Assessment
Appear for the NAVORA online aptitude test designed to evaluate your reasoning ability, communication skills, basic mathematics, and career suitability.
Step 3 – Personal Counselling
Our career counsellors interact with both the candidate and parents to explain the Merchant Navy profession, career opportunities, eligibility, and the admission process.
Step 4 – Medical Guidance
Candidates receive guidance regarding the medical fitness requirements applicable for Merchant Navy courses and are advised to complete the required medical examination as per college requirements.
Step 5 – Orientation Programme
Selected candidates may attend a short orientation programme covering:

Step 6 – College Guidance & Admission Assistance
Based on eligibility and seat availability, candidates are guided towards suitable DG Shipping Approved Colleges. NAVORA assists with documentation and the admission process.
Step 7 – College Training
After admission, candidates undergo the prescribed training programme at their respective college in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
Step 8 – Sea Training / Onboard Training
After successfully completing the required course and fulfilling applicable requirements, eligible candidates may proceed for onboard training or sea training opportunities as per the applicable process.
